Farewell Maxwell Sim Racing Team
With a heavy heart and some amazing memories Maxwell is closing the sim racing club to focus solely on the karting side of the business.
I have been working with Maxwell for a while now and this job has meant more to me than I ever expected it to. The confidence it's taught me to have is honestly immeasurable. I've loved sim racing for years now, and content creation has been a huge part of my life for the past five. It wasn't until this job that I got pushed out of my comfort zone of "just me". Getting to create content for a company in the sim racing and racing world has been such an awesome opportunity, and I'm really grateful for it.
Like any job, it came with its highs and lows. I was almost attacked by a squirrel, worked some long shifts, and experienced the occasional old-man misogyny that tends to come with this kind of environment. But I also met some genuinely awesome people along the way. I got to work some really cool events, like hosting Cars & Coffee and sim racing GPs, and every one of them taught me something new. I've grown a lot during my time at Maxwell, and I'm really thankful for everything I've learned and the people I met along the way.
I always looked forward to seeing the regular members, chatting with my coworkers, and getting the chance to experience sim rigs I'd only dreamed of using before. It was also really cool watching the owner and his son work on their karts in the warehouse and then seeing that hard work pay off on track every week. I loved walking in every week and noticing another trophy on the shelf until eventually there wasn't any room left for more.
Maxwell will always be a job I'll remember. I learned so much during my time here, and it's bittersweet to see this chapter come to an end. It was such a fun experience getting to share something I'm so passionate about with people who loved it just as much. One of my favorite parts was seeing that passion for sim racing in person. Before Maxwell, all of my sim racing friendships and connections existed only online through streaming, so seeing that same passion in real life every day was something I'll always be grateful for.
Farewell Maxwell, I loved working here more than I knew <3
